Bezerra da Silva has always been a humorous chronicler of life in the hills of Rio de Janeiro. But his stories, full of this local flavor and inspired by everyday reality, include universal elements that allow the composer to touch on life situations and to make fun of them beyond the environment of the favelas. SAMBA-WISE CHRONICLES is a series with 5 independent episodes based on songs by Bezerra da Silva. These brief comic anecdotes are adapted to more universal situations and environments, but without losing the mischievous nature of the sambas that inspired them. Imbibed with a touch of farce, the stories bring a kind of innocent, almost naïve humor, in line with the work of the comedy troupe known as the “Best in the World”.
