Blood of the Earth

It is an unavoidable fact that Brazil's development generates conflicts. There are ecosystems that disappear, natural resources that run out, displaced communities, ways of life that are forever extinguished, people murdered. Violence. Nowadays, major infrastructure works, large-scale mining and agribusiness face limits to their expansion. The regions chosen to sacrifice for development have been defended by the communities that have historically occupied them. The series focuses on the most troubled regions, where this clash is becoming most intense. In each episode we immerse ourselves in an environmental conflict, through the eyes of the characters involved. We document environmental conflicts and their consequences for these communities and the ecosystem that surrounds them, bringing a cinematic reflection on this particular moment in Brazil's history where the land bleeds from the abuse caused by unbridled development.
